This individual is among the swarm of Sparks who invade Mechanicsburg during the Siege of that city. He reportedly commands a force of "doom squirrels" who are crushed by either Wulfenbach forces or the city's own defenders, and so by the time we actually meet him ✣ , he is lurking in a basement with his last surviving minion, a grad student named Miss Baumhund. With the rest of the Sparks finally swept from the city, he emerges to "begin his assault"... by attempting to seize Zeetha and Higgs as hostages.
The last we have seen of this sad deluded creature ✣ , he is in need of being transferred into the-less-than-gentle care of Doctor Sun, while Miss Baumhund is said to be asking if Agatha is accepting transfer students.
Miss Baumhund calls him "Professor", but we never learn his name, and so an appropriate placeholder is used here.
Theories and Speculations[]
Much later in the comic, there is mention made ✣ of one Viscount Olig Bertus, who reportedly attacked Mechanicsburg during the Siege with an army of, yes, squirrels. However, he is further reported to have been killed by said squirrels, so he and Professor Loser may be one and the same, or merely rivals in the field of Sciuridae-based warfare theory.
