"Awww...", lol. Also, Boris surprises them yet again. Seems he's been holding himself back for some time, not revealing just how capable he is, in more ways than one. What other surprises may he have up his various sleeves? --Undomelin 03:54, August 23, 2010 (UTC)

Feh! Technicalities :) Agathahetrodyne 06:33, August 23, 2010 (UTC)

It seems the Generals think little of the ban on entering Mechanicsburg, and the bugman (Boris) is trying to talk them out of joining aggy, Agathahetrodyne 16:36, August 24, 2010 (UTC)

I think the generals are taking the view that the basement of Madam Gkika's isn't "in" the town. Boris points out accurately that, to them, not entering the town means the same as not going upstairs! Thus, they too are relying on a "technicality". Jagers in general also seem to have a pragmatic view that if you didn't get caught, you haven't done it. Hence the "sneaky gate". while Boris does imply that going upstairs gets them into town, which would be likely from the basement of Madam Gkika's, how does that square with "Meanwhile, aboard one of the smaller craft which support the great airship Castle Wulfenbach." which opened this arc? Elmegil 01:26, August 27, 2010 (UTC)
I interpret the "we haven't entered" and "haven't climbed upstairs" as referring to the Jägermonster community in general, not the generals specifically. Argadi 08:50, August 27, 2010 (UTC)

Boris Dolokhov knows a great deal about the political situation, which is no surprise in the Baron's personal assistant. He knows that the Jägers must and will join Agatha if she officially becomes the Heterodyne. He is arguing for restraint, because waiting for things to be all official allows the chance for some kind of political deal that will hold the Pax Wulfenbach together.

All of the conditions for the return of the Jägerkin are already met, but if the Jägergenerals move now, before the transition is official, the abrupt shock will shatter the peace. If there must be a transition, Dolokhov wants it as smooth as possible. Neither Dolokhov nor the Generals knows that Round Two of the Other Wars is now inevitable. (As readers, we are better informed than any character in the story). General Zog will not be dissapointed for long. Datkhound 17:56, August 23, 2010 (UTC)
