Discussion for comic for 2011-11-23 (Wednesday) .

Be sure to sign your edits with four tildes --> Mamma's dressed fit to kill. "Eat, drink and be merry. Or else we will kick you in the pants." My guess at one of the obscured signs. 20px-1298786.png Rej¿¤¤? 03:59, November 23, 2011 (UTC)

~I think the second sign says:

ASK
FOR
CREDIT
GO ON--
TRY

~It makes sense because Mama is smart and wouldn't trust a bunch of drunkard tourists enough to let them buy drinks, etc. on credit.

~The violet strap-and-net-costume gal now indeed seems to be [mostly?] human, based off of Sleipnir's comment. How smart of Theo to turn her offer down. ; )

~Why did Phil draw Mama wiggly and behind the DOOOM's 'effects' in the last panel, when he drew the other airship-Jäger solid and clearly in front of the DOOOM's effects?

Probably because Mamma is wearing armour and it is the armour vibrating in time, time, keeping a sort of runic rhyme in sympathy with the moaning and the groaning of the bell. Doom Bell.
It's rather like those big base speakers driven by hundreds of watts in the low riders. There is a drug dealer here who uses his as though it were an ice cream truck. No one in my rural neighborhood can miss it because it makes your teeth buzz and your chest throb with every beat of the drums and every strum on a base instrument.-- Billy Catringer 19:53, November 23, 2011 (UTC)

~Does anyone else think that vase-like thing in the background looks... unusual? I'm not sure. ~Mysteria Femina~ (talkAvatar wall) 04:17, November 23, 2011 (UTC)

Considering the location, I would be more suspicious of anything that looked purely normal! LittleAlvinMaker 05:10, November 23, 2011 (UTC)

Ask for Credit , Go on try !. yet another nice sign. Agathahetrodyne 04:17, November 23, 2011 (UTC)

Not only is Mamma Gkika dressed fit to kill, she appears to be ecstatic to hear the knell of The Bell. On the other hand, Gil and Dumedd seem stunned by its iron groan. Must've been a lot of rust in its throat. -- Billy Catringer 07:50, November 23, 2011 (UTC)

It would seem that Mama Gkika hasn't finished putting on her full battle dress. I hope we get to see it. It should be impressive. I guess her hair is down (without the copper sword hairpin) so she can put on a hat or helmet of some sort. AndyAB99 19:00, November 23, 2011 (UTC)

Damn the double post! I just realized that Mamma is not wearing that copper pin in her hair. If the Professor Foglio shows up and asks Gil for the story book now, while relating the Baron's Tale, in the process, it will most likely be Mamma who will recognize the hint in the story. -- Billy Catringer 08:02, November 23, 2011 (UTC)

The vase-like thing in panel one is a hookah. Depending on whether this is the above-ground or below-ground portion of the bar, it's either pure tobacco, or, um, adulterated. Given the Jägers' proclivities, I'm not gonna guess what with. As far as Theo and Sleipnir's exchange in the first panel, I believe the esteemed Pofessors Foglio are now officially screwing with us on purpose whether she's a Jäger, a human, or something in between. —jdreyfuss 15:11, November 23, 2011 (UTC)

Where's Captain Vole? Is he afraid to show his face in Mama's? AndyAB99 19:00, November 23, 2011 (UTC)

Of course he is! -- Billy Catringer 19:42, November 23, 2011 (UTC)
A Disloyal Ex-Jäger can't go into Mama Gkika's for the same reason a child molester can't be put in the general population of a prison. Vole committed the Ultimate Sin, was forgiven by Bill and Barry, and did it again! He can never be among Jägerkin, under any circumstances, let alone when they're all worked up with a new Heterodyne and the Doom Bell and all! Datkhound 20:23, November 23, 2011 (UTC)
Yeah, that's the point. Vole is a lot of talk. It should be interesting to see how the other Jaegers treat him when he's Gil's "pet Jaeger", which makes the last panel here a bit clearer. AndyAB99 15:46, November 24, 2011 (UTC)

I want one of those coffee mugs! -- SpareParts 21:30, November 23, 2011 (UTC)

Yeah! With a picture of Mamma Gkika and her Goils on it! -- Billy Catringer 21:56, November 23, 2011 (UTC)
Tell it to Cafe Press! They'd sell a bunch of them. AndyAB99 15:46, November 24, 2011 (UTC)
The Professors heard this suggestion, and the cup is now available. Argadi 10:12, December 10, 2011 (UTC)

They are not true Jaegers, easy to tell. No trilobite displayed anywhere on their costume that I can see. Professor Hunter 23:49, November 23, 2011 (UTC)

Note Gil's watch. Sunrise in Mechanicsburg on Thursday May 19, 1892 occurs at 4:43 am (with no daylight savings time). Doom Bell is right on the money. 20px-1298786.png Rej¿¤¤? 23:47, November 24, 2011 (UTC)
