The firefly has landed. Boy am I slow. The whole serenity gag was a Joss Whedon shout out. 20px-1298786.png Rej¿¤¤? 04:50, March 28, 2012 (UTC)

I must be missing something, because I don't see the crew of Serenity there. I suppose the redhead looks a little like Nathan Fillion, but that's it. —jdreyfuss 11:39, March 28, 2012 (UTC)

The similarities are subtle. The flying/falling machine = Serenity, which always starts working just prior to a complete disaster. Othar Trygvassen = Jayne Cobb, both are just wrong, but highly effective. Vole = Generic Purple Belly. Vole's deadly, but ultimately ineffectual. The ever fussy and fastidious Tarvek Sturmvarous = Simon Tamm, who ultimately saved the day once he got past being fussy and fastidious, just like the good Doctor Tamm. There are other parallels as well, but I won't go into those. -- Billy Catringer 13:29, March 28, 2012 (UTC)

Buy the bye. Some comix shops have reported getting the new GG novel in today. --Rej

I've already ordered a copy from Amazon. They sent me a notice via e-mail. -- Billy Catringer 05:06, March 28, 2012 (UTC)

Delightful end to the crisis. Err... does Othar get credit for this escape or not? He did calm Tarvek down and free his hands, and he occupied Vole and induced him to provide a wrench. Someone pointed out that Othar was making uncharacteristicly good sense here, maybe his sparky talent influences events and behaviors around him without taking him to the madness place. And where does one get Heroic Pants? So many questions. (And another, is there spell check here? I can't find it, if there is.) - Gsulli7369 10:17, March 28, 2012 (UTC)

There are two editor views, one where you see the markup and one that hides the markup. I used the editor where you see the markup and Firefox lets me know when I've mistyped (or when I use a word it doesn't know like Othar) it lets me know. (Probably what you were worried about: "uncharacteristicly" should be "uncharacteristically".) Argadi 10:52, March 28, 2012 (UTC)
Thanks. I don't use Firefox and don't plan to, so I guess I'll just have to put up with okazionally embearizing miselph.---Gsulli7369 21:11, March 28, 2012 (UTC)
Any web browser that has spell check as you type capabilities (this includes the latest versions of Chrome and Safari, as well as Firefox) will show you mispelled words when you edit the page in source mode. (I assume IE has this as well, but I haven't used it in a long time.) --William Ansley 21:57, March 28, 2012 (UTC)
Ah, I see. Thanks, but I don't want to complicate our convivial little exchange of small talk here. Maybe I'll just dig out my paper dictionary. I think it's in the garage with my bearskins, pointy sticks, and EGA monitors. --Gsulli7369 10:43, March 29, 2012 (UTC)
No, you are supposed to keep your stone knives next to your bearskins in the garage. Maybe you didn't watch enough ST:TOS growing up. ;-) --William Ansley 20:02, March 29, 2012 (UTC)
Othar is a credit hog. He did not really save the day, he did just barely enough to claim all the credit and get away with it. That is the key to the funny in this particular scene. Who had the technical expertise to start the falling machine, thereby converting into a flying machine? Tarek. Did Tarvek get the credit for what he did? No. The townspeople credited Othar with the save. They won't even acknowledge Tarvek as one of Agatha's advisors. -- Billy Catringer 13:50, March 28, 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for commenting, I take your point, and this page is funny for just the reasons you say, but I can't help thinking Tarvek saved the day because Othar annoyed him out of his panic and into focusing on the problem at hand. And of course the townspeople aren't giving Tarvek his due. The man has no hat! Nor does he announce himself in a fancy font! He needs to upgrade his marketing game. - --Gsulli7369 21:11, March 28, 2012 (UTC)
You are quite welcome! I have so many opinions that I have a great deal of trouble getting anyone to pay attention to them. I quite agree with you about Tarvek needing to upgrade his marketing. I think that Doctor Tamm reached that same conclusion about his own circumstances while drinking Mudder's milk in Canton's tavern. -- Billy Catringer 01:21, March 29, 2012 (UTC)
Arrrrrgh! You people are going to force me to watch Firefly and Serenity aren't you? Maybe I should just go get it over with. --Gsulli7369 10:43, March 29, 2012 (UTC)

Anyone have a prediction as to Agatha's reaction to each of these two? I don't think she'll be too happy about Othar, especially if she finds out he kidnapped Tarvek. AndyAB99 17:58, March 28, 2012 (UTC)

Several commenters over on Facebook think the "Lady Heterodyne" Othar and Tarvek are being taken to see will turn out to be Zola, which strikes me as definitely possible. --William Ansley 21:57, March 28, 2012 (UTC)
I'm not sure why Zola would hang around Mechanicsburg when she has knowledge of Lucrezia's secrets. There's much more for her to wreak havoc with among the Geisterdamen. The Doom Bell has rung. The Jaegermonsters are back and they can easily spot her as a fake. And the Doom Bell means Agatha's fixed Der Kestle and is increasing control of the city, including the spreading knowledge that it's "the coffee one". The town council has acknowledged Agatha as the Heterodyne. Maybe the Foglios are thinking differently. Remember that Zola is also contesting Lucrezia for power. She wants to steal Lucrezia's position. Being "Lady Heterodyne" doesn't buy as much as impersonating Lucrezia to the Geisters. The Knights of Jove "Storm King - Heterodyne Princess" plot was shot to hell back in volume 7.AndyAB99 10:56, March 29, 2012 (UTC)
You seem to be assuming that Zola was in control when she met Lucrezia-in-Anevka in the hospital and was only pretending to be Lucrezia controlling Zola. This may be true, but it seem unlikely to me that Zola would have told any instance of Lucrezia about the fact Klaus had been "spark wasped" and could be controlled by the "command voice." So my current assumption is that Lucrezia is currently controlling Zola. Of course, even if that is true, presumably Zola could "wake up" and start fighting Lucrezia for control of her body at any time. Perhaps we will find out who is in the driver's seat in Zola's chassis before too much longer. --William Ansley 20:19, March 29, 2012 (UTC)
Zola doesn't know the Baron was wasped? Really? It seems to be the conscensus that Zola was pretending to be Lucrezia in the hospital, judging from several fan sites. I'm not sure. Zola was pretty well beaten up and pumped full of "Moveit #11". It's possible that Lucrezia had control at that time, but a conscious Zola dominates Lucrezia. AndyAB99 01:51, March 30, 2012 (UTC)
Sigh. That not what I said. I said, "it seem unlikely to me that Zola would have told any instance of Lucrezia" about the Baron being wasped. Therefore I must have been aware that Zola knew that the Baron was wasped.
Lucrezia-in-Anevka is the one who didn't know about the Baron being wasped, and Zola (or Lucrezia-in-Zola) told her about it in the last panel of this page. If Zola was in control when she did this, I don't understand why she would give away a secret that should be her ace in the hole to her enemy. Fan consensus can be wrong, after all. --William Ansley 16:57, March 30, 2012 (UTC)

Just for Othar.

Has anyone besides me noticed that heroes are almost always annoying and dangerous? -- Billy Catringer 05:15, March 28, 2012 (UTC)

"Do you know what the definition of a hero is? Someone who gets other people killed. You can look it up later." (That's what you wanted someone to say, right?) 142.68.192.32 12:47, March 30, 2012 (UTC)
You got it, Bubbette! -- 199.187.249.252 13:29, March 30, 2012 (UTC)
Of course, that's why they're not part of the common ruck. --Gsulli7369 10:43, March 29, 2012 (UTC)

Iwouldnt say that she is impersonating Lucreazia, she is being totally controled by her. By herself Zola wasn't anywhere near as bad as she is now. Agathahetrodyne 18:13, March 29, 2012 (UTC)
