Given that time has stopped, light should have stopped, too. How can they see?Bosda Di'Chi (talk) 19:14, May 19, 2017 (UTC)

As time is apparently slowed inside the field, not stopped, one might expect light emitted by anything in the field to be very redshifted (all the way to radio wavelengths), as far as someone outside of the field would perceive the emerging light. However, by the same token, the Sun (appearing as a streak in the sky that tilts according to seasons flickering by) would be horrendously blueshifted (to gamma rays), as far as people in the field would see incoming light. Presumably the field has some secondary property that keeps everyone inside from being burnt to a crisp, perhaps by blocking any outside E-M shorter than certain radio wavelengths. Perhaps the red stasis field color was a deliberate choice to evoke redshifting (while putting aside the issues I mentioned). —Undomelin 08:15, August 8, 2017 (UTC)
Since this isn't literary science fiction, we, the readers, need to see inside Mechanicsburg. You know, it's just like the "whoosh" of the Enterprize in the first TV series. Just suspend disbelief and enjoy the story. This isn't a scientific documentary, it's entertainment. --Fred1740 (talk) 13:07, August 22, 2018 (UTC)
