As you may have noticed, I pulled in Template:Chart and related stuff from Wikipedia. It works (see my sandbox for what I'm thinking of putting on the Mongfish family page), but the template documentation is not easy to find. Compare Template:Chart with Wikipedia:Template:Chart.

Anyone know how to fix this? Argadi 00:24, June 29, 2010 (UTC)

Some progress[]

Basically the trick is dealing with the dependencies. I uploaded some .svg files. Filled in the red /doc links with dummies to avoid a river of further dependencies. Commented out the mbox stuff and the pp (protection templates that were missing. Etc.

The result is your chart page now gives up its doc. There are still red links. They need to be loaded from the same source as you copied the templates from or dealt with thru the dummies or commenting out. I will leave that to your capable energies.

The thing that makes it fun is each template has its own /doc extention, at least that is what the documentation template expects. Each documentation template can call on the wikia infoboxes like mbox so its like pulling on a tangled web of string.

Thank you for spending the time to make that work. I spent too much time on this wiki yesterday and needed to get to other obligations. Argadi 08:17, June 29, 2010 (UTC)
I can imagine. There are a lot of templates you had to move. Remember back when I was trying to find some automatic way to grab things? --Rej 22:31, June 29, 2010 (UTC)
I did find an automated way — I just exported Template:Chart from Wikipedia and all 150 pages came in one XML file, and I imported that file into this wiki. It got many of the dependencies, but it didn't know enough to get everything it needed. Argadi 00:31, June 30, 2010 (UTC)
Oooouh. Good work. That's a useful trick to know. Now to find something to try it on. "mbox"es maybe? --Rej¿¤¤? 00:10, July 21, 2010 (UTC)
