Girl Genius

Koppelslav is a red-skinned Jägergeneral sporting a beard and long blondish mane. To date, his name has not been given in the comic, but has been confirmed in the fourth print novel. He was previously called "Gargantua" here on the wiki, as that nickname is disparagingly tossed in his direction by a hostile Wulfenbach stealth fighter.[1]

He first appears at a meeting of Generals in Mechanicsburg after Agatha is officially proclaimed to be the Heterodyne.

One of his comments hints that he might be among the younger members of the Jäger leaders. (Youth of course being a relative term in this case)

His rather spiffy outfit ("Vot? Dis old ting?"), while exposing rather too much skin to be fairly called "armor", does come equipped with large organic-looking spikes or horns which he can rip off and hurl as projectile weapons. Or possibly the spikes are part of his body and poke through holes in his shoulder-guards. If so, ouch.

Along with some nekkid ladies cavorting on his upper arms, he has the words "LOVE" and "HAT" (sic) tattooed on his knuckles.

He and the other generals assist Tarvek in saving the surviving members of the crashed Vespiary Squad from the attacking Wulfenbach forces. He takes part in the betting as to whether Agatha will ultimately choose Tarvek or Gil as a mate, going with "both".

He is trapped in Mechanicsburg when Baron Wulfenbach deploys his Take-Five Bomb.

The Print Novels[]

Along with confirming his name, Agatha H. and the Siege of Mechanicsburg notes that before returning to the eponymous city for Agatha's ascension, he had been stationed for over a decade on the eastern border of the Wulfenbach empire.

  1. Along with the print novel, Kaja Foglio posted on the Girl Genius website an “in development” picture regarding the real-life “Jäger Poker Deck” which she and Phil are/were producing. Whoever made the rough draft cards labeled the present character “Gen 4” (and misspelled Khrizhan's name—to be closer to his namesake), but “Koppelslav” has been penciled in underneath.
