Ivo Sharktooth is a Mechanicsburg-based Jägermonster, and is the star ✣ of the Ivo Sharktooth PJ in-comic side-story set in the "future" ✣ , evidently at some point after the end of the Other War and the freeing of Mechanicsburg from Baron Wulfenbach's time-bubble.
He is an atypical Jäger in many respects; he dislikes fighting, considering it a waste of time, and is "not much of a joiner". These attitudes have estranged him from his fellow Jägers, and to date his encounters with them have been jovially hostile.
He also has a history with Luzette, AKA "The Anvil", who tends bar at the local landmark the Stopped Clock, and a strained relationship with Watch Chief Drozeki.
Ivo operates as a private detective for hire, ("PJ" standing for "Private Jäger") with the proviso that once you hire him to pursue a case, you cannot unhire him. Perhaps unsurprisingly, this leads to his not being overwhelmed with clients, at least at the time the story starts. Nevertheless, following the theft ✣ of the Golden Snail Trophy for the Mechanicsburg Harvest Festival snail race, Vanamonde von Mekkhan brings Mechanicburg's new(ish) ruler Agatha Heterodyne to see him, and his services are engaged. As the fellow himself predicts, this quickly leads to a rat's nest of threats, conspiracy and murder...
