The explosion could be a result of excess energy from drinking from the Dyne. The energy was too much for his body causing it to explode. Agatha was able to disipate the energy by transferring it to Gil and Tarvek. Also confirmed by the Castle/Otila here Mad Spark 16:44, April 27, 2010 (UTC)
