Talk:Quotable Lines

From Girl Genius

A lot of these quotes go on far further than the memorable parts. And often the memorable stuff loses its emphasis. It feels too rude to me to edit others efforts. But it this situation remains, and no one else claims responsibility, I might give it a try. Objectors can always undo my edits and I will respect their wishes. Rej Maddog 18:12, 17 April 2009 (UTC)

It's a wiki, go for it. -- Corgi 22:04, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
What needs to be done to make this not-a-stub (besides removing the coding naming it a stub) -- Axi 18:28, 1 June 2009 (UTC)
It's kind of insubstantial. Surely after 8.5 volumes, there's more quotable lines than this. Too bad Rej seems to have forgotten about this, I think he'd have some pretty good input. At the very least, let's divvy this up into volume-by-volume sections, with an extra for other sources (the short stories et al.) and keep our eyes out for good additions. -- Corgi 20:42, 1 June 2009 (UTC)

A more important question might be, "where do we stop?" Many or most of the pages have a punchline, if not multiple gag lines. Something like "top 15 quotes per volume", five each for "Romance/Drama", "Humor", and something/"Mad Science" might focus the effort.⚙Zarchne 20:20, 22 June 2009 (UTC)

By subject would be difficult because of the differing parts of the story we're moving through. How about 20 per volume, not including the short stories and radio plays? Easy to set up with sections and numbered lists. -- Corgi 22:46, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
If you want, I'll start tackling these quotes tomorrow--At least numbering them and sorting them by Volume. -- Axi 23:53, 23 June 2009 (UTC)

What, exactly, are we trying to accomplish here? There's already quite a substantial body of GG quotes at Wikiquote. How is this article not redundant? I'm not asserting that it is, but the answer to the question might provide some sensible guidance on how to proceed, if at all. -- that old bearded guy 23:52, 23 June 2009 (UTC)

Then how about just rendering it as a link to the Wikiquotes page and be done with it? If we're not going to do it right, best not doing it at all. -- Corgi 16:50, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
