"The Crown of the Sleeping King" is a Trelawney Thorpe, Spark of the Realm story which appeared in the TPB edition of Girl Genius Volume II: Agatha Heterodyne and the Airship City. Since it was drawn by Cheyenne Wright, instead of appearing online on the main Girl Genius site, it was told on Cheyenne Wright's Arcane Times site. After being unavailable for a time, "The Crown of the Sleeping King" can be read online again at the Arcane Times section of Comic Genesis.

It recounts the ingenious means by which this celebrated British intelligence agent foils the plan of Professor LeMort to steal the legendary crown of King Arthur and use it to enslave the people of Britain through mind control.

This story was shown to be part of the Girl Genius canon in volume 18 (book five of The Second Journey of Agatha Heterodyne). Panel 1 of that page shows that Arthur's crown, one of the guardians of the crown, and the shield that activated the secret door into the crypt of the crown have all been placed into the Royal Collection of Inconvenient Oddities. It turns out that the pattern of buttons pressed on this shield to open the door forms the shape of the constellation Draco (for Arthur Pendragon.)[1]
