The expression used the the table below, which could be a template, converts the date into the zero-based index of the comic in the current year. Add the year times 1000, and you have a unique comic identifier that doesn't count non-comic days. You then can say:

• 20090000 through 20090004 -- add the last four digits to 18 and you have the Cinderella page number
• 20090005 -- volume ix front cover
• 20090006 though sometime -- subtract 5 from the last four digits an you have the volume ix online page number
• 20070000 through sometime -- add 132 to the last four digits to get the print version page number, add 126 to get the online page number
